Why?
I'm 'Doing It in a Dress' this September and October because I believe that education is something that we should all be able to experience and profit from! Educating girls is one of the best ways to help communities as a whole, and it is a great way for people to make real and continuing changes in our world.
Giving aid and donating money is amazing - there is no doubt. However, it is very often a band aid fix, and doesn't actually address the recurring issues that led to people requiring aid in the first place. By educating girls, you can start to help fix these problems from the ground up, and help these communities become self-sufficient.
I have been lucky enough to have received, and to continue to receive, an incredible education. That is something that I would love these girls to be able to experience as well. It can truly open up a world of opportunities for them!
So please donate to our team at The Women's College, UQ and help to make a difference in a girl's life today. Every little bit makes a huge difference!
I'm fundraising for girls' education
Did you know that 130 million girls around the world are out of school? Educating girls not only changes the lives of those girls, but also their families, communities and countries. Not only that, but getting more girls in school will have a positive impact on climate change! A win-win-win.
