Support a scholar

122 million girls around the world are currently out of school.

That’s a huge number. Almost impossible to imagine.
But change starts small — one girl at a time.

This International Day of the Girl, we’re starting with 30.
Thirty girls in Sierra Leone. Thirty chances to break the cycle.
When a girl stays in school, she’s safer, stronger, and ready to lead.

It costs $2,250 to keep one girl in school for a year — covering everything she needs to thrive, including school fees, uniforms, textbooks, hygiene products, meals, social support, and life skills education that empowers her beyond the classroom.

Together, we can fill every desk.

Support a scholar. Help build the Class of 2026.

unlock her story

As the campaign progresses, you’ll see new desks appear in our classroom — each one representing a girl whose education has been fully funded for the year. Every time we raise $2,250, we fill another desk and unlock a real scholar’s story. You’ll meet the girls you’re supporting, hear their dreams, their hopes, and their gratitude. It’s our way of saying thank you, and showing the impact of your generosity.
one desk, one girl, one powerful story at a time.

Stories unlock daily at 3pm AEST – so if you've helped fill a desk, keep an eye out to meet the scholar you've supported.
Set your watch – her story is worth the wait.

why girls?

We believe, when you educate a girl, everything changes.

  • A girl with an education earns more, marries later, and is more likely to raise healthy, educated children.

  • Every additional year of schooling can boost a girl’s future income by up to 20%

  • If all girls completed secondary school, child marriage would drop by 64%.

  • Educated girls are more likely to participate in decision-making, respond to climate disasters, and help break cycles of poverty.

When we support girls to stay in school, the ripple effects are powerful — for their futures, their families, and entire communities.

This is one of the most effective ways to create lasting change.
One girl at a time.

Why $2,250?

add remove

$2,250 is what it takes to support one girl through an entire year of school with One Girl.

This includes everything she needs to thrive. A uniform, shoes, backpack, books, pens, a solar light to study after dark, sanitary pads, and lunch money. But it doesn’t stop there.

We know that keeping a girl in school goes beyond the classroom. Your support also funds monthly life skills sessions in safe, supportive spaces — where girls build confidence, learn about their health and rights, and dream big about their futures.

Each scholar is backed by a dedicated Field Officer, who supports them, their school, and their family every step of the way making sure no girl has to face barriers alone.

And we go even further, partnering with teachers and caregivers to ensure a network of support surrounds every girl, so she can stay in school and succeed.

where does the money go?
