Why am I so passionate?
It is one thing to know statistics, but it is another to connect to the story. Here's why I am so passionate about girls:
One thing that makes me so involved about girls rights and education is seeing the effect of education in my family.
My Nana was out of school by the age of 14, working when she should be learning, she had kids while she was still young, but I look up to her so much because she returned to her education, became a mentor for girls and youth in STEM, she now she has a wide range of knowledge which I can see has passed down to her three daughters.
There have also been women who I know who have been denied things because of their gender. Because they are not classed as hard working because they are a girl, and therefore they did not get inheritance, nor the dignity that they worked so hard for.
I can see the value of education and what it has done for my family alone. I can see also the oppression of girls and that in some countries, being a girl isn't good enough. I want to change this.
Please help me educate girls so that their lives, and the lives around them are significantly improved.
I'm fundraising for...
all the girls that don't have the same chance as many of us do.
Seirra Leone and Uganda are some of the hardest places to be a girl, and so I want to fundraise and awareness raise so that their quality of life improves, but not only girls, but the community and the country too.
130 million girls are not in school when they should be. But together you and me can change this, one girl at a time. Please help this change by donating so that a girls doors of opportunity are opened.
